Scene 1: The Meetup
Four old friends, Emily, John, Lisa, and Mark, meet at a café after years of separation. They reminisce about their college days and catch up on each other's lives. Emily seems stressed and worried about something.
Emily: \"It's so great to see you guys after all these years. I have to admit I'm a little nervous about today's meeting.\" John: \"What meeting?\" Emily: \"The final one with my lawyer for my divorce. It's happening today.\" Lisa: \"Oh my god, Emily. I'm so sorry. How are you holding up?\" Mark: \"You know you can always talk to us. You don't have to go through this alone.\"Scene 2: The Divorce Meeting
Emily is in a meeting room with her lawyer, while the others wait outside. They can hear some shouting and banging from inside the room. After a while, Emily comes out, looking upset and agitated.
John: \"What happened in there?\" Emily: \"He's being so unreasonable. He wants to keep everything - the house, the car, the savings. He's not even willing to discuss custody of the kids.\" Lisa: \"That's ridiculous. What can we do to help?\" Emily: \"I was hoping you guys could testify on my behalf. You know me and the kids. You know what we've been through.\" Mark: \"Of course. We'll do anything to help you.\"Scene 3: The Courtroom
The four friends are in the courtroom, waiting for Emily's case to be called. When it's finally her turn, they see her standing alone in front of the judge. The judge listens to both parties, then turns to Emily.
Judge: \"Ms. Johnson, do you understand that once you make this decision, there is no turning back? This is a one-way road.\" Emily: \"I do, Your Honor. I'm aware of the consequences.\" Judge: \"Very well. I'm granting the divorce, and awarding the house, the car, and the savings to Mr. Johnson, as well as custody of the children. Ms. Johnson, you have one hour to pack your belongings and leave the premises.\" Emily looks devastated, but her friends go up to her to comfort her. John: \"Emily, we'll help you get through this. You're not alone.\" Lisa: \"We'll find you a new place to live, and help you start a new life.\" Mark: \"You're a strong person, Emily. You'll get through this. Just don't forget that we're here for you.\"End of Scene.
