寒食古诗翻译

The Cold Food Festival, also known as the day before Tomb Sweeping Day, is one of the traditional Chinese festivals. Ancient poets have left many poetic works about the Cold Food Festival. Here is a poem named \"Han Shi\" which describes the origin of the Cold Food Festival:
The Emperor of Han Dynasty slayed the white snake,
The Eastern suburbs’ graves have become uncultivated,
Both the emperor and his subjects have glorified their ancestors’ achievements.
Drunkenness with no restraints,
Is the extravagance of young people.
Only the fragrant flowers of the Yue State are with respect,
Passed down forever, worshipped and swept in tradition.
This poem describes the origin of the Cold Food Festival. Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty killed a white snake, which then transformed into a beautiful woman named Bai Suzhen and became the emperor’s wife. The emperor's ability to become an emperor is largely due to Bai Suzhen's help. On the day of the Cold Food Festival, people sweep graves and offer sacrifices to their ancestors to show their gratitude for their contributions and assistance. Therefore, a unique custom of eating cold food has been passed down. The poet through this ancient poem expresses his respect and gratitude for the contribution of his ancestors.
